Recommended reading: Talking about several blog aggregation websites and personal recommendations
With the emergence of the wormhole function in the personal website store, there are now many blog aggregation projects. This article attempts to collect them.
SeekBetter is a project that collects blogs and crawls the subscription addresses of blogs. On this project, you can see which blogs have published new articles.
Chinese Independent Blog List is a project built on GitHub. It collects Chinese independent blogs and podcasts and crawls their subscription addresses on a website. It is quite famous among blog owners.
BlogZhi has been collecting excellent blogs every year since 2002, pursuing the principle of preferring quality over quantity.
Blog Alliance is an alliance of blog owners. (Recently, it seems that the forum has encountered problems and returned a 404 error.) One or two years ago, there was a student blog alliance supported by it, but I don't know where it went now.
BlogFinder is also a blog aggregation project mainly focused on crawling subscription addresses. The maintainer is just one person. The project also includes reading selections related to topics such as books and travel, where you can view related blog posts.
Ten-Year Pact was initially established by a group of bloggers to make a commitment to keep their blogs updated for ten years. Bloggers who agree and promise to abide by this pact can join this blogger alliance. Currently, Ten-Year Pact has developed a wormhole function similar to GoTo (but unlike GoTo, Ten-Year Pact members are not required to add wormhole links. Just like the unknown nature of wormholes, this link can be bidirectional like GoTo or unidirectional). Ten-Year Pact has also created a forum.
Personal Website Store is said to be maintained by one person, who handles all the coding, auditing, and daily operations, which is really not easy. This project not only collects websites and crawls subscription addresses but also has a forum function. Currently, the Personal Website Store has also launched a new wormhole function, similar to the wormhole of Ten-Year Pact. This kind of link can be bidirectional or unidirectional.
GoTo initially wanted to imitate GoTo, but recently they are developing something similar to a Chinese blog search engine. Most of the people in their project team are middle school students, so they are somewhat inconvenienced. Currently, the difference between them and GoTo is that they not only jump to the homepage of the website but also can jump to the inner pages of the website through web crawling. In addition, they currently have a management backend and application programming interface that GoTo does not have.
Blog Search Network is something closer to a Chinese blog search engine. It can crawl blog posts through subscription addresses and is currently maintained by one person.
Chinese Blog List Navigation is a project that I am not convenient to introduce further. It includes architecture statistics charts and domain statistics charts of blogs. The threshold for inclusion is very low, so it can be used to discover some niche blogs.
GoTo was originally developed because a certain blog program did not have a friend link function. It requires GoTo members to add GoTo links. According to feedback from GoTo members, GoTo has become the main source of traffic for some websites.
Moe Country ICP Filing is an ICP filing for a country called Moe. (As for where that country is, we don't know.) Some cute blogs can apply for Moe Country ICP filing, and the blogs that have been filed generally have a two-dimensional color.
BlogWe is a blog list project that collects blog websites. However, the recent review situation seems to be not very good, with over 800 blogs waiting to be reviewed.
Little Bear Navigation is a blog navigation project that collects blog websites. It was established in December 2022 and is a very young project.
For these blog aggregation projects, it is definitely beneficial to connect blogs together. However, if we observe these projects together, we will find that "most of the blog aggregation projects have the same functions." Some blog aggregation projects are still developing other functions. Let's take blog jumping projects as an example. More blog jumping projects can provide bloggers with more choices, which is certainly not wrong. But will this lead to competition with GoTo like GoTo did at the beginning? Let's take blog list projects as an example. Many blog list projects initially invested a lot of time in collecting and adding blogs. Can we avoid wasting time and energy on repeatedly adding blogs and spend more time improving the differentiated aspects of each project?
My personal abilities are limited. If there are any blog aggregation projects that have not been collected, please leave a comment. Thank you.
