To the library

Exterior of Quanzhou Library
Because my home is too far from the library, it takes about two hours by bus round trip, so I don't have many opportunities to go to the library. Sometimes I am lucky to encounter Wednesday afternoons when the library is closed, and I haven't spent much time reading in the library all morning. It seems that the library is for borrowing books and doing other things? I am not used to reading in public places, and I have never tried to read in my own favorite way.

Standing under the huge building of the library, I inexplicably feel a sense of awe. Maybe I am too small, too small to be able to read and understand all the books in my lifetime; or maybe the library is too big, with an exterior like a sailboat.

The library is exceptionally quiet. I rarely hear voices in the library, which makes me more inclined to hang up the phone call my mother gave me in the library.

The people here are all very beautiful. They are either preparing their own papers in front of their laptops or doing chemistry problems, while I am flipping through books leisurely. I didn't pay much attention to the specifics, because it seems impolite to pay too much attention to others, just like I can't study well during self-study under the teacher's gaze.
